FAQ

1. Is RT01 easy to use if I’ve never owned a controller before?

Yes! RT01 is beginner-friendly:
• Just plug in your devices, select a preset mode, and it works out of the box.
• No programming required.
• We’ll provide simple guides, wiring tutorials, and quick-start videos.
Whether you’re new or experienced, we’ve got you covered.

2. Can RT01 control multiple enclosures (terrariums) at once?

Yes. You can assign different settings to each outlet and manage multiple enclosures from a single device.

3. Is RT01 compatible with 110V and 220V?

Yes. RT01 supports both 110V and 220V. We’ll automatically ship the correct version for your country, including plug type and voltage.

4. Does RT01 need to be installed inside the enclosure?

No. RT01 is an external device. It stays outside your terrarium and connects to your equipment via outlets and sensors.

5. How does RT01 manage temperature, humidity, airflow, and lighting together?

It uses real-time sensor data and logic triggers (e.g., “if temp < 75°F, turn on heater + reduce fan”).

6. Can I set different schedules for day and night?

Absolutely. You can create multiple profiles for daytime and nighttime and automate the switch based on time or sensor data.

7. Can RT01 control UVB lighting or special light cycles?

Yes. Each outlet is individually programmable. You can set custom timings for UVB, basking, or LED lights.

8. Is RT01 suitable for breeding or sensitive environments?

Yes. RT01 is designed for precise control, stability, and reliability — making it ideal for breeders and advanced keepers.

9. How many enclosures can RT01 control at once? Can I expand that?

The current version of RT01 comes with built-in support for up to 3 enclosures. Each enclosure can be assigned its own group of sockets and independent logic. This setup covers most users — including multi-tank keepers and breeders. In future updates, we may allow expanded support via software upgrades based on user demand. You don’t need to buy 3 devices — one RT01 handles 3 tanks.

10. What’s the difference between the two sensors? Do I need both?

• Standard Sensor: Monitors overall temperature & humidity in the tank.
• Scald Guard Sensor: Measures surface heat of heating pads/rocks to prevent burns
Use both for full safety and precision. Recommend 1 sensor per 1m³ tank.

11. Are there features added because of user feedback?

Yes! Thanks to your suggestions, we added:
• Multi-enclosure support
• Email alerts
• Preset modes
• Logic editor upgrades
All based on real user input.

12. How do I contact your team?

Message us here on Kickstarter or email rt01@evolveleap.com. We reply within 12 hours.

13. Where can I find tutorials or other user stories?

Check our Meta Group and Kickstarter updates — we post real test photos, videos, and tips every week.

14. Are the sockets fixed, or can I define them myself?

Originally, RT01’s sockets had predefined functions. But thanks to strong user feedback during early testing, we made a major change: All sockets are now fully customizable.
You can assign any function to any outlet — heating, lighting, misting, fans, etc. Each socket can have its own trigger conditions and timing schedule. This gives you complete control, no matter what equipment or species you keep.
